Streetwear x web3: MLLN - Where 3D Printing, Blockchain, and Footwear Collide
But will our foot pics end up on OnlyFans?!
Welcome to the SW3 newsletter, where I explore the world in which web3 and streetwear collide. It’s for web3 natives and beginners alike, so if you know someone who might be interested, share the love by forwarding this email on!
I’ve had a little break while I was working on getting my consultancy business off the ground (thanks for sticking around) and I’m pleased to say subscribers kept growing in that time, so thanks for sharing and sending onto friends. There are now over 220 of you reading!

Today I’m taking a closer look at a new player: MLLN.
This fresh footwear brand is all about combining innovative 3D-printed designs, blockchain technology, and a hint of virtual reality. Curious to find out how they're stepping into the future of footwear? Let's dive in.
MLLN are shaking up the sneaker scene by bridging the gap between the digital and physical worlds, creating unique and functional footwear.
How? They scan your foot for the perfectly snug fit. Simply choose your desired colour and place an order. You'll receive a redeem code via email, which you can use to scan your feet in the app for a custom fit. Once complete, MLLN will 3D print and ship your personalised footwear right to your doorstep!
Cool huh? Here’s what they look like…
So, how exactly does MLLN utilise web3 technology?
They've integrated NFTs into their business model to offer customers a whole new level of personalisation and ownership. When customers purchase a pair of MLLN shoes, they also receive a corresponding NFT, minted on the blockchain. This NFT not only certifies the ownership and authenticity of the shoes, but also serves as a digital representation of the physical product.
Currently, the mint cost for an NFT associated with MLLN shoes is 0.3 ETH, which equates to around £470. Along with the NFT, customers receive the MLLNPass, a lifetime digital membership to MLLN's services. The MLLNPass grants access to a variety of exclusive perks, including priority printing, discounts on future purchases, early access to upcoming drops, and access to exclusive products.
The NFTs associated with each pair of shoes can also offer additional perks to the customers, such as exclusive access to members-only events, early access to upcoming drops, and discounts on future purchases. This adds an extra layer of value for MLLN customers and deepens the connection between the brand and its community.
How does this foot scanning stuff work?
To bring these designs to life, MLLN is partnering with Zellerfeld, a leader in 3D printing technology. Zellerfeld's custom foot scanner creates a mould of the wearer's foot, which allows MLLN to print shoes out of skin-safe latex that fit like a dream. It's an intriguing concept that's got people talking.
Now, I won't lie, the thought of having my feet scanned did make me wonder if I’d end up seeing my foot pics on OnlyFans. But on a serious note, it's all about getting that perfect fit, right?!
Who’s behind MLLN?
Khamis and Rush-Taylor, the brains behind MLLN, boast an impressive resume. Rush-Taylor's experience includes Adidas, Puma, and Vivobarefoot, while Khamis has worked with Columbia Sportswear, Reebok, and YEEZY. Their diverse backgrounds give them a unique perspective on the intersection of style and function.
I’ve seen a few more silhouettes being teased on their socials so let’s stay tuned and see what comes next!
