Announcing the SW3 streetwear x web3 newsletter...

Thanks for signing up. So you love streetwear and sneakers, and keep hearing about ‘NFTs’ or ‘web3’, but you have no idea how these things work together or what it all means. Well great! Then you’re in the right place.

Right now the world of streetwear and web3 is in its infancy, which means you’re incredibly EARRRRRLY! It’s an exciting time as web3 and streetwear go on to have lots of little babies and more and more fun offshoots happen, beyond just NFT projects or metaverse outfits.

I’m not gonna lie. Some of it is wild. Some of it is cheesy. Some of it doesn’t make any sense. But also, it’s not all cybersneakers or apes in Adidas… there is some really cool shit happening, and as time goes on that’ll only increase.

Personally I’m excited about how blockchain can help things like tracking ownership of resale items, or giving royalties back to artists on resale, guaranteeing authenticity or documenting an ethical supply chain. That’s just some of the cool stuff that web3 and blockchain can do on the backend, but there is so much cool shit happening on the front facing side too, and as more people enter ‘the space’ we will see dope new brands creating great ‘phygital’ pieces too.

In every email, I’ll be breaking down this new technology and putting jargon into Layman’s terms, so don’t worry if you know nothing about web3, crypto, NFTs or blockchain. In time, we will be creating our own little community of streetwear web3 heads, where you can ask all the questions you like and show us your favourite fits, but for now just sit back and enjoy the ride.
